The new baby gift guide

Know someone having a baby soon, and not sure what to gift them? While you might be tempted to gift a cuddly toy or cute outfit, there are some things that we know every parent loves to receive as gifts for their newborn. That’s not to say cute outfits and cuddly toys aren’t good gifts though, you can never have too many of those!

1. Muslins
Muslins, affectionately known as ‘muzzies’ to many people, are the literal ‘do everything’ item when it comes to babies. Muslins are made from super soft materials (ours are bamboo!) and are kind to baby’s skin, perfect for use as makeshift playmats, wiping little noses, baths and more. Try Mama Bamboo Luxury Muslins here.

2. Nappy Vouchers
If you’re not likely to meet the new arrival to judge size, a nappy gift voucher is a brilliant way to allow new parents to buy nappies in the right size for their little one, and might well come in handy for those last minute orders. These are fabulous gifts for parents who might have less financial freedom or even for grandparents and other caretakers so they can help provide for Baby in their own way.

3.Tableware
Kids go through clothes, utensils, plates and bowls pretty quickly. Something that’s always helpful to have is more baby-safe tableware so parents are ready for the days when baby starts eating more solid foods, and not having to stress about washing up constantly.

4. Baby Grows / Sleepsuits
Like Muslins, you can never really have enough babygrows. From nappy blowouts to the freshly-clothed chuck-ups, when it comes to babies and especially newborns, little ones can get through outfits much quicker than you do! So a selection of babygrows in a few different sizes is a great functional gift to help parents make sure they never run out of fresh outfits and also gives you the opportunity to buy something super cute for Baby to wear. Check out our super soft bamboo baby grows which make the perfect gift.

5. Baby Bathing accessories
Brushing baby’s teeth and hair isn’t something a lot of parents immediately think about in the chaos - so rushing out to buy a soft hairbrush, sponge or toothbrush isn’t uncommon. Give the parent’s baby brains a rest and gift these functional accessories, made from sustainable bamboo and safe for use from 3 months.

Any of these items make great gifts for new parents, especially when they’re made from sustainable, natural and safe materials. Browse our full range of Baby Accessories and Nappies & Wipes
