B the Change - Be a B-Corp

Why did you do it? Was it really hard? Are you really committed? 

Questions I get asked all the time by other businesses regarding our B-Corp status. 

Most companies would not want to put themselves through the rigorous process of becoming a B-Corp or commit themselves wholeheartedly to the sustainable and ethical values. Legally changing their stakeholders and business goals and committing to charitable donations puts most companies off. And fear of not meeting the high standards and achieving the certificate is daunting for those who only nod to ethical and environmentally good business practises. 

But it is so worth it.

I wanted to be B-Corp certified and join the B-Corp movement because I really believe that business should be used as a force for good. 

I started Mama Bamboo to make a positive change in the world. Our sustainability goals and ethically practices are not an afterthought or a nice to have. They are baked into our very reason for existing. 

The key values and aims of B-Corps are....

• To be the change we seek in the world. 
• To run our businesses valuing all people and places.
• To aspire to benefit all and do no harm. 
• To be responsible for each other and future generations.

On this 2022 Earth Day, I'd like to restate and recommit to our promise. We will make the world a better place by living and breathing these values in everything we do.
